This Wavin Monoline electrofusion connection saddle is used in water and gas systems to create a branch in a PE pressure pipe.

Properties

The Monoline connection saddle has a maximum operating temperature of 20°C with a working pressure of 16 bar for water systems. For gas systems, the maximum operating temperature is 20°C with a working pressure of 10 bar.

The Wavin electrofusion connection saddle is Kiwa and Gastec QA certified. This makes the electrofusion fitting suitable for drinking water and gas.

Assembly

This connection saddle is used to create a branch in an existing pressure pipe. To create a welded connection between a PE pressure pipe and a welded coupling, you need a PE cleaner, a peeling device, clamps, and a welding machine. During welding, the spiral in the electrofusion attachment heats up, fusing the two components together. This creates a strong, tensile-resistant, gas- and watertight connection.

The welding process

• Place the connection saddle around the pipe and mark the spot with a marker.
• Remove the connecting saddle from the pipe, use the peeling device and remove the burrs.
• Clean the area with PE cleaner and, if necessary, re-indicate the length.
• Replace the connection saddle around the tube and tighten the screws.
• Connect the welding machine, scan the barcode and start the welding process.
• Check the indicator pins, they should have come out all the way.
• Disconnect and remove the welding cables and fixation clamps after the specified cooling time.
• Wait at least 2 hours before pressurizing the piping system.
