This Uponor reducing coupling, also called a press coupling, is used for gas pipes to create a press connection between two different sizes of multilayer pipes.

In addition to this transition coupling, the Uponor range includes various accessories, such as:
  • Multilayer pipes.
  • Casing tubes.
  • Links.

Properties

The Uponor press fitting has a maximum operating temperature of 70°C and a maximum pressure of 10 bar at 20°C. The fitting has high tensile strength, making it more resistant to external factors such as vibration, pressure fluctuations, and thermal expansion or contraction.

Material

The Uponor coupling is tin-plated brass and features a stainless steel press sleeve. The stainless steel press sleeve is resistant to mechanical pressure, providing better protection for the Hnbr sealing ring.

Marking

The press fitting has a yellow marking and engraved text to show that it is suitable for gas.

Assembly

The pressing is performed with the Uponor tool.

Pressing takes just a few steps:
  • Cut the pipe to size and deburr the ends to prevent a noisy pipe.
  • Slide the tube into the coupling until it is fully visible in the viewing window.
  • Perform the pressing with the correct tools.
After pressing, a density test must still be carried out.
