This Bonfix reducing ring is used to solder a copper pipe to an appendage or coupling with a larger diameter.

Resources

To create a watertight and/or gas-tight connection to the pipe, you must remove grease and dirt before making the connection. You can use cleaners and degreasers for cleaning.

Assembly

It's important to cut the pipe straight when soldering the solder fitting to the pipe. You can do this with a pipe cutter. This reducing ring is connected using soft soldering. You first apply solder to the fitting, then to the reducing ring, and then connect the pipe. The solder is heated at the narrow gap between the fitting, the reducing ring, and the copper pipe, and is drawn in, making the connection watertight or gas-tight.
