This HWA relief well is installed at the bottom of a HWA pipe. The top of the relief well should be 2 to 3 cm above ground level. If the well is installed in a (foot)path, the top should be level with ground level. The relief well should only be used in combination with a HWA/sewer trap.

Discharge capacity

As a rule of thumb for the drainage capacity of a rainwater drain, 1 cm² of drain opening area is used for every 1 m² of roof surface. Depending on the required rainwater drainage area, one or more drains/downpipes are used.
