An Atlantic Calypso heat pump boiler allows you to use hot water energy-efficiently. The integrated heat pump in the boiler extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it to the water in the boiler.
Good for the environment and your wallet
The Calypso VM proudly carries the A+ energy label. The heat pump draws two-thirds of the energy required from the ambient air to heat the water to 50-52°C. Electricity is only required to operate the pump. With a COP2 of 2.75 (type VM-100L) and 3.21 (type VM-150L), the Calypso produces approximately three times as much energy as it consumes annually!
Connection with PV (solar energy)
Due to the limitations of the Dutch net metering scheme, the heat pump boiler with an optional connection to PV panels becomes an attractive solution. By connecting the PV system to the Calypso heat pump boiler, it is possible to store excess heat in the boiler free of charge. In this application, the heat pump boiler acts as a battery, storing the excess generated energy. The sustainable generation of hot water through the combination of the heat pump and PV system not only saves electricity but also significantly reduces gas consumption.
