The DAB EvoSta2 40-70/180M is an advanced medium-cooled circulation pump specifically designed for heating and cooling applications in residential and commercial installations. Pump housing and connections

The pump housing is made of high-quality cast iron EN-GJL-250 (GG25) , a material known for its strength, durability and excellent vibration damping. The pump is equipped with 1½” (40 mm) metric male threaded connections , both on the inlet and discharge side, according to ISO 228-1 . The external pipe diameter is 139.7 mm on both sides, with a round flange shape and PN 10 pressure class for both the suction and discharge flange.

Performance and hydraulics

The EvoSta2 40-70/180M offers a maximum flow rate of 3.6 m³/h , with a volume flow at best operating point (BEP) of 1.94 m³/h and a pressure at BEP of 31 kPa . The maximum delivery head is 6.9 metres , making it ideal for medium-sized circulation systems. The pump is suitable for a continuous medium temperature between -10 °C and +110 °C , and can operate up to an ambient temperature of 60 °C , ensuring a wide range of applications.

Engine and electronics

The pump has a built-in stepless speed control , which ensures quiet, accurate and energy-efficient operation. The 1-phase motor operates at a nominal voltage of 230 V with a frequency of 50/60 Hz , and has a speed of 2800 rpm . The motor power consumption (P1) is 0.35 kW , with a nominal current of 0.32 A. The pump is equipped with insulation class F according to IEC standards and a protection degree of IPX5 , which means that it is completely splash-proof.

The electrical connection is easily made via a 1.5 meter cord with plug , making installation quick and efficient.

Intelligent control & communication

Although the pump does not support external communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-485, Modbus, BACnet or KNX, it does have built-in communication and a pulse counter interface . It is not equipped with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or WLAN, and does not support mobile standards (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G).

The pump has no floating switching contacts or external signal interfaces such as 0–10 V, 4–20 mA or PT100/PTC. Nevertheless, thanks to its advanced internal control and low energy index (EEI 0.18), it is one of the most efficient circulation pumps on the market.
