Viega Viega Smartpress transition piece 25 X 3/4 (6711)

This Viega Smartpress transition coupling, type 6711, is part of the Viega Smartpress central heating, water, and gas piping system and is used to connect a press connection to a male thread. The couplings in sizes 20–32 mm may also be used for the gas piping system.

The use of bronze makes the fitting hygienic and corrosion-resistant, it has no stress corrosion cracking and has a long service life.

In addition to this transition coupling, the Viega Smartpress range includes various fittings, such as:

Properties

The Viega transition coupling has a maximum operating temperature of 70°C with a maximum pressure of 10 bar for drinking water systems. For central heating pipe systems, the maximum operating temperature is 80°C with a maximum pressure of 10 bar. Gas is resistant to temperatures from -20°C to +80°C with a maximum pressure of 5 bar. The coupling is equipped with the SC-Contur press test.

Quality mark

This Smartpress transition coupling is Gastec QA and Kiwa certified. This makes it suitable for drinking water and gas pipeline systems.

Assembly

This fitting converts a press connection to a male thread. Pressing can be performed using the Viega tool.

The pressing process takes just a few steps.

• Cut the pipe to size and deburr the ends to prevent a noisy pipe.
• Slide the tube into the press fitting until it is visible in the viewing window.
• When using a press jaw: Place the press jaw straight onto the fitting and perform the pressing.
• When using a crimping pliers (16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm): Place the crimping pliers straight onto the fitting and perform the crimping.

For a wet press test, the pressure range is 1.0–6.5 bar, and for a dry press test, the pressure range is 22 mbar–3.0 bar. During a dry press test, a clear pressure drop is visible on the pressure gauge.
