The SPRSUN CGK-030V3L-B SERIES (12 kW) Monobloc Heat Pump is an air-to-water heat pump that extracts heat from the outside air and uses it to heat, cool, and provide hot water to your home. Because it's a monobloc design , all the key components (compressor, evaporator, fan, heat exchanger, and control system) are housed in a single outdoor unit. This makes installation and maintenance easier, as there's no need for a separate indoor unit.
How does it work?
-
Heat extraction from outside air
-
The fan draws in outside air.
-
The refrigerant in the evaporator absorbs heat from the air, even at low outside temperatures.
-
Compression and warming up
-
The compressor pressurises the refrigerant, causing its temperature to rise sharply.
-
Heat transfer to water circuit
-
The heat exchanger transfers the heat from the coolant to the water circuit (for underfloor heating, radiators or a boiler).
-
Cooling (optional)
-
In summer the process can be reversed: the heat pump extracts heat from the house and releases it into the outside air.
-
Sanitary hot water
-
It can also control a boiler for hot tap water (shower, kitchen, etc.).
Main advantages of this monobloc heat pump:
-
All-in-one system → no separate indoor unit required.
-
Energy efficient → often works with a COP of 4 or higher (1 kW of electricity = 4 kW of heat).
-
Sustainable → reduces gas consumption and CO₂ emissions.
-
User-friendly → usually equipped with smart controls and silent operation.
-
Flexible in use → suitable for both new construction and renovation.

Advantages
-
High efficiency : good performance even at lower temperatures thanks to inverter/EVI technology.
-
Environmentally friendly refrigerant R32, lower GWP than many older refrigerants.
-
Reliability and quality : components such as a Panasonic compressor, brushless fans, and smart defrost technology.
-
Wide temperature range : also works in quite cold outdoor conditions.
-
Ease of use : touchscreen, WiFi control, online monitoring.
Disadvantages / What to look out for
-
Noise : Relatively loud at full load (approx. 59 dB(A)) — depending on where it's placed, this may be audible. Night mode helps, but inspect the location.
-
Costs/Investment : High purchase/installation costs, especially if you also need buffer tanks or other modifications. Subsidies can help.
-
Water-side installation : although refrigerant gas work is not necessary (monobloc), the connection to the water circuit must be done properly, with attention to water quality, correct pipe dimensions, sufficient flow rate, etc.
-
Performance in extreme cold weather : At very low outdoor temperatures the CoP drops — still working, but less efficient.
Applications / What is it suitable for?
-
Homes with central heating via radiators or underfloor heating where you want to reduce or avoid gas use.
-
Areas with cold winters, but where you still want reliable heating without bulky gas installations.
-
New construction or renovation projects where energy efficiency and environmental labels are important.
-
Houses where cooling is also required or where tap water heating is integrated.
Tips for purchasing/installation
-
Sizing : calculate the capacity based on insulation level, surface area, desired indoor temperature, and climate. You often need less than the maximum capacity, provided the insulation and system are good.
-
Buffer tank : Use a buffer tank to reduce switching cycles, which improves efficiency and service life.
-
Good installation quality : correct hydraulic connection, good water settings, and ensuring that the water-side balance and water quality are in order.
-
Maintenance : cleaning the outdoor unit, checking filters, checking for leaks, and checking the controller settings.
-
Subsidies & regulations : inquire about available subsidies or certifications (e.g., ISDE in the EU/Netherlands). The CGK-030V3L-B has reporting code KA22403 for subsidies in the Netherlands.
