Operation of the Heat Pump Boiler

A heat pump water heater extracts heat from the ambient air or exhaust air. The compressor increases the pressure of the refrigerant, which raises its temperature. This causes the refrigerant to change into a gas and transfer its heat to the water in the water heater. The pressure drops, and the gas returns to a liquid. This cycle repeats, providing a constant source of hot water.
