Viega Sanpress transition bend 90 degrees 15 X 1/2 (2214)

This 90° bend is part of the Viega Profi/Sanpress central heating, air and water pipe system.

Because the bronze is used, the 90° bend is corrosion-resistant, hygienic, and durable. The union nut is made of brass. The 90° bend is ideal for use with stainless steel pipes of classes 316 and 444.

In addition to this 90° bend, the Viega Profi/Sanpress range includes various press fittings such as:

• wire couplings,
• inserts,
• wall plates,
• T-pieces,
• transition couplings.

Properties

The Viega 90° bend has a maximum operating temperature range of 85°C with a maximum pressure of 16 bar for drinking water systems. For central heating pipe systems, the maximum operating temperature range is 110°C with a maximum pressure of 16 bar. For compressed air, the maximum operating temperature is 60°C with a maximum pressure of 150 mbar. The coupling is equipped with the SC-Contur pressure test.

Quality mark

This Profi/Sanpress bend has the Kiwa quality mark. This makes it suitable for drinking water systems. This is also indicated by the green marking on the coupling.

Assembly

The pressing can be completed with the Viega tool.

Pressing takes just 3 steps:

• Cut the pipe to size and deburr the ends to prevent a noisy pipe.
• Mark the insertion depth and slide the pipe into the coupling up to the marking.
• Check that the press jaw is in the center of the raised edge and press the coupling.
• Thanks to the SC-Contur, unpressed connections are immediately detected during a press inspection. If the pressing is not performed correctly, water will leak from the coupling without it detaching from the pipe when pressure is applied.

For a wet pressure test, the pressure range is 1.0–6.5 bar, and for a dry pressure test, the pressure range is 22 mbar–3.0 bar. A clear drop in pressure is visible on the gauge during a dry pressure test.
